The USDA Plant Hardiness map indicates Average Annual Minimum Temperatures within 10 degree F zones.
Plant hardiness zones should be used only as a starting point in determining which plants can be grown in your area. Low temperatures are only one of many factors determining plant hardiness. Local arboretums, botanical gardens, nursery workers, landscapers and other experienced plant people in your area are the best sources of plant hardiness information.
The map below comes from the National Arboretum Website. Following links on this page will take you out of the Landscape Plants website. The copyright © statement refers to material from the USDA site only.
